Riven Rock Masonic Lodge # 60 honors historic cornerstone
The officers and members of Riven Rock Masonic Lodge # 60, pictured with cornerstone that was laid by the Lodge around 1925. The Lodge was chartered in 1903 and is located in Timmonsville SC.
Lodge members and officers visited the site of the cornerstone as a history lesson and to pay homage to the Lodge’s rich history in September, 2022.
It should be noted Rev. Dr. D. M. Pierce was the 2nd Pastor of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Darlington SC and the founding Pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Timmonsville SC in 1883.
Also Rev. Edward Ham was Pleasant Grove Baptist Church’s 3rd Pastor in Darlington, SC. He, along with the congregation, was instrumental in remodeling Bethlehem Baptist Church in 1925.
Rev. Dr. Henry B. Peoples and Rev. Dr. Frank Ham both Pastored Bethlehem Baptist Church, in Timmonsville, and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Darlington. They were also members of Riven Rock Masonic Lodge #60. Pleasant Grove Baptist Church recently unveiled their Historical Marker celebrating 153 yrs. in existence. CONTRIBUTED PHOTO
