Raceway, Brown’s RVs donates to Carraway Foundation

On Wednesday, November 15th, the Darlington Raceway and Brown’s RVs donated $12,002.68 to the Terrence Carraway Foundation. The donation was the proceeds of the Terrence Carraway Memorial 5K Run held this past September, where 283 participants competed, some from as far away as Colorado, New York, Florida and, even Anchorage, Alaska. Darlington Raceway President Kerry Tharpe and Barry Brown of Brown’s RVs presented the check to Mrs. Allison Carraway. Tharpe and Brown praised the memory of Sgt. Terrence F. Carraway, who was killed while responding to a call. They also honored the tireless efforts of all first responders. Mrs. Carraway remarked, “First responders don’t just show up. They care deeply about the community.” Also in attendance were Mr. and Mrs. Carraway’s children, Darlington Mayor Curtis Boyd, Darlington Sheriff James Hudson, Darlington Police Chief Kelvin Washington, Florence Police Chief Allen Heidler, City Council members Sheila Baccus and Elaine Reed, as well as a group of local citizens.
