Police: Teenager brings a pistol to Hartsville High

The Hartsville Police Department says a 16-year-old student brought a pistol to Hartsville High School on April 28. The youth, unidentified because of his age, has been charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds, according to Hartsville police and media reports. Officials said he brought the weapon in a book bag. According to media reports, the student was found to have a loaded Rossi .38 Special holding five rounds, two 9mm rounds in his pockets, a marijuana grinder, a jar containing marijuana residue and two smoked joints in a pouch around his neck.
