PDRTA will require passengers to wear masks
The Pee Dee Regional Transportation Authority will require bus riders to wear face masks. The policy began Monday.
PDRTA said it is acting in response to the city of Florence’s decision to require citizens to wear masks in public places.
“PDRTA is committed to limiting the spread of COVID-19 by following the guidelines established by the city of Florence. The safety and health of our passengers and employees are our top priority,” the agency said.
PDRTA said face masks can include, but are not limited to, bandannas, medical masks, cloth masks, scarves and gaiters, provided it securely covers the person’s face and nose. PDRTA drivers can provide a mask but encourage passengers to have their own when using public transportation.
