One killed in county crash
One person was killed Sept. 13 when two vehicles collided in Darlington County, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said. The crash took place about 5:25 p.m. on South Charleston Road near Long Marsh Road. A Chevrolet Malibu ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected and crossed the center line, the patrol said. An SUV hit the Malibu; the Malibu’s driver died in the collision. The driver of the SUV was hospitalized with injuries. The victim’s name had not been released.
