One killed as car hits a tree
A Hartsville man was killed June 2 when a vehicle ran off a road and hit a tree in Darlington County, officials said. The S.C. Highway Patrol said the incident happened about 1 a.m. on Kellybelle Road near Kellytown Road. The patrol said a Buick ran off the road on the right side, veered back, ran off the other side of the road and struck a tree. County Coroner Todd Hardee identified the victim as Lewis McInville, 33, of Hartsville.
