Officials investigate deadly house fire
One person was killed Friday morning in a house fire on Brentwood Drive near the Lydia community of Darlington County, officials said. The victim’s name had not been released. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, said Coroner Todd Hardee. Cause of the fire was not yet clear. The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office, the Darlington County coroner’s office and the State Law Enforcement Division were investigating.
