Officials charge four in March shootings

Four people have been charged in the non-fatal shootings of three people in Darlington County on March 29, according to reports. One of the victims was found at the scene on Bishop Drive; another was found at home; another had been taken to a hospital, apparently by a private vehicle. Charged in the shootings, according to reports, are Frederick Bennett, Rector Bishop, Theophilus Bishop and Donquez Williams. Jail records state that Bennett was booked May 10 and has been charged with assault and battery by mob, resulting in serious injury, 2nd degree; possession of a weapon during a violent crime; discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle; unlawful possession of a machine gun or sawed-off shotgun; and drug possession. Jail records for the remaining three were not immediately available; they apparently have been released on bond. According to reports, they have been charged with assault and battery by mob resulting in a serious injury, 2nd degree.
