Marion man hit by car, killed in Society Hill
A Marion resident was struck by a car and killed Aug. 2 in Society Hill, officials said. William Mayo, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene by Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee. The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. on South Main Street in Society Hill, Hardee said. The case was under investigation by the Darlington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
