A man has been charged in connection with a Sept. 9 shooting at a Fastrack convenience store/gas station at 1680 South Main St. just outside the Darlington city limits. The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office said deputies arrested Joshua Christian Pearce and charged him with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and domestic violence, 2nd degree, in the incident, which officials said was related to “a domestic situation.” The victim, who was not identified, “suffered non-life-threatening wounds and was treated at a nearby hospital,” the Sheriff’s Office said. Jail records show Pearce also is charged with domestic violence, 2nd degree, in a June case, and also is charged with failure to appear in court after being released on a felony charge.
