The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man in the 2019 slayings of two men off the Timmonsville Highway. Frederick L. Woods of Florence was arrested in Richland County and booked into the Darlington County jail July 15. He faces two murder charges in the Feb. 24, 2019, slayings of Matthew Jackson and Harry Jackson. Woods also faces drug charges from 2021. Sheriff James Hudson told local media that this is an “ongoing investigation,” and that releasing more information about it could hinder the investigation. The U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force aided in the arrest. Hudson credited the Sheriff’s Office’s homicide team for a string of recent arrests. Matthew Jackson and Harry Jackson were shot at a home in the 3300 block of Timmonsville Highway. Deputies were dispatched to the residence around 8:45 a.m.
