Man arrested in connection with truck theft

A man has been arrested in connection with the theft of a pickup truck in Hartsville last month, according to the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office.
Phoenix Conway Odom was taken into custody on Tuesday and charged with grand larceny, criminal conspiracy, and malicious injury to personal property. Authorities say he worked with others to steal a 2018 Chevrolet truck from W. Old Camden Road on January 22.
Deputies launched an investigation after responding to a report of the stolen vehicle. A tip led them to the location of the truck, which had sustained damage to its infotainment system, mirror, and venting system.
The case remains under investigation.
