The same man accused of killing a North Carolina hemp farmer near Hartsville earlier this year now has been charged in a 2020 slaying in Darlington County. Ronnie James McDougal Jr. faces charges of murder, criminal conspiracy and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in connection with the July 31, 2020, death of Brian Jackson on Silverpine Lane. The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office alleges he was paid to kill Jackson. Warrants cited in local media reports say there are at least three other suspects in the case, but they were not identified.
