Lilabelle W. Moody

DARLINGTON — Lilabelle Weinberg Moody, 94, passed away at her home surrounded by family on Jan. 7, 2021. A graveside service was held on Monday, Jan. 11, at Grove Hill Cemetery. Born in Darlington on Dec.16, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Eva Jane Dudley Weinberg. Lilabelle was a lifetime resident of Darlington, where she and her husband, the late Archie Moody, owned and operated Moody-Godley Auction Co. She always enjoyed following her grand- and great-grandchildren’s sports and activities and taking care of her family. A devoted member of First Baptist Church in Darlington for many years, she loved her church family. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Pete Pierce of Florida, Dannie and Jerry McLellan and Nancy and Timmy Huntley, all of Darlington; grandchildren Angie (William) Campbell, Beth (Michael) Prosser, Jay (Claudia) McLellan, Lyles (Josh) Brannon, Roddy (Krissy) Huntley; great-grandchildren Danielle Kriss, Carla (Vic) Landon Dalton Prosser, Kirven Prosser, Alex McLellan, Benjamin McLellan, Tripp Huntley and Huntley Brannon. The Moody family expresses their gratitude to Chantel Allsbrook, Minnetta Cotton, Chasity Benjamin and Wanda Cotton for their wonderful care and Rev. Renny Johnson for his friendship and countless visits and prayers. Mrs. Moody was the last surviving child of 12 children born to Mr. and Mrs. Weinberg and was also preceded in death by her husband.
