A life-size Nativity scene was erected Nov. 30 at the corner of South Main and Hampton streets in Darlington as part of the city’s holiday celebrations. Gail Milling, wife of City Council member John Milling, led the project. “As the year 2018 came to an end, I thought how beautiful downtown Darlington had looked, dressed in her Christmas decorations, but something was missing,” she said. “As the Holy Spirit nudged me, I recognized we, as a community, didn’t have a Holy Nativity scene. Individual churches did have them, but not one community Nativity scene.”
