Lamar woman pleads guilty to involuntary manslaughter

A Lamar woman charged in her husband’s 2017 beating death has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, according the S.C. Attorney General’s Office. Veronica Carol Davis-Logan was charged with murder in 2017 after allegedly hitting her husband in the head with an object. He died after about two weeks in an area hospital. A spokesman for the Attorney General’s Office said the primary witnesses in the case were children, and officials did not want to put them through the stress of testifying in court.
