Jane Morris Pipkin

DARLINGTON — Jane Morris Pipkin, age 78, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Born on Feb. 18, 1943, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Jane was the daughter of the late Rufus Philmore Morris and Elizabeth Alice Hoover Whitener. She started her career as owner and operator of The Peddler Steak House in Florence, and then worked as secretary for Young’s Pecans for many years, and later was owner of Raceway Pit Stop. She was an amazing painter, an avid reader, and later in life enjoyed watching Netflix. Jane was known as a people person who enjoyed being around people and was a spiritual lady. Surviving are her children, Phil (Jackie) Tomberlin of Timmonsville, Bryan (Jasmine) Pipkin of Hartsville and Terri (Wen) Falana of Darlington; five grandchildren, Morgan, Brianna, Kolby, Heather and Ashley; her nieces and nephews she adored: Anthony Crook, Ann Marie Dowdy, Mary Frances Glover, & Mike Morris; and her beloved cats, Button and Mollie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice A. Pipkin; sisters, Ann Crook and Mary Thomas “Tommie” Gibbs and brothers, Jim Morris and Bill Morris.
