The House of Refuge Outreach Ministry last week celebrated the grand opening of a clothing closet designed to help local school children who need better fitting, gently used outfits.
“We’ll be serving the children in the school district that are in need,” said Tonya Flowers, House of Refuge founder.
Flowers explained that House of Refuge will coordinate with social workers, law enforcement, and concerned citizens to connect with kids in Darlington, Hartsville, Lamar, Society Hill, and Timmonsville, and provide them with a set of clothes free of charge.
“They can come here and select whatever they are in need of… because there is no reason a child in our community should have to go without,” Flowers said.
The House of Refuge Clothing Closet will also provide clothing for adults in need. The closet is located at 104 City Way in Darlington.
