Helen “Honey” Moody

Mrs. Helen “Honey” Moody, age 89, of Darlington, passed away Thursday morning, Aug. 12, 2021, at her residence. She was born in Darlington County, loved and known by all. Honey is now reunited with her husband of 52 years, Thomas Moody. Honey was a devoted mother to her two children Sherrill“Gee Gee” Moody and Michael Douglas Moody. She was a loving and giving grandmother to her grandchildren and their spouses, Blair Turnage, Jonathan Turnage, Adam Buck, Kim Buck, Brandon Kemmerlin and Catherine Kemmerlin and honorary grandson Jake Jones; and six great-grandchildren, Makayla Buck, Finn Turnage, Maddox Turnage, Maggie Blair Turnage, Lincoln Kemmerlin, and Annakate Kemmerlin. Honey was a devoted member of Flat Creek Church. She was a lover of all things shopping and pretty but most of all she loved and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. If you were lucky enough to be present when she gazed into her children’s faces, the pure joy and pride radiating from her would blind you. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will dearly miss her. Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021, at Belk Funeral Home in Darlington. Burial followed in Grove Hill Cemetery. Visitation preceded funeral services from 10 until 11 a.m. A guestbook is available online at www.belkfuneralhome.com.
