Hazel Thompson
DARLINGTON — Hazel Buie Thompson, widow of Theo Robert Thompson, died on Friday, Feb. 5, 2021. A graveside service was held Tuesday, Feb. 9, in Grove Hill Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home. Born in Lamar on Dec. 28, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Palmer and Pauline Jordan Buie. Mrs. Thompson retired from AT&T and was a member of First Baptist Church of Darlington. She is survived by her children Sheila (Jim) Leach of Charlotte, Wanda (James) Pettus of Clover, Angie (Daniel) Hyman of Darlington; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brothers Paul Buie, Robert Buie and Gerald (Bettina) Buie. She was preceded in death by brothers, John, Jim, Palmer, Wilson, Julian, Raford and Ronald Buie. We would also like to thank the physicians and staff at Medford for taking such good care of Mom over the past eight years.
