Hartsville man wanted by Darlington County Sheriff’s Office turns himself in

De’Antre Lamont Cooks, age 19, of Hartsville turned himself into Darlington County Sheriff’s Investigators March 15. He is charged with accessory before the fact of attempted murder. A person who violates this section is guilty of a felony, and, upon conviction, must be imprisoned for not more than thirty years.

Darlington County Sheriff’s Investigators allege that on March 7 Cooks was driving a vehicle that an unknown occupant did fire a firearm from at the victims then flee. It occurred east of Hartsville in Darlington County. Cooks is considered to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

This case remains under investigation.
