Hartsville Delta Sigma Theta donates 50 books to Carolina Pines

The Hartsville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. donated 50 books to the Women and Children Services unit of Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center. This will give parents the opportunity to read to their newborn infants. Founded January 13, 1913, this effort was a chapter service project to honor the sorority’s 110th Founders Day anniversary. Chapter President, Tammie Robinson stated, “The members are delighted that through the gift of books, we have helped parents strengthen their bond with their infant while going through a difficult and stressful time. Sharing books is a good way for families to take time out, relax and become a familiar voice to their child”.
