Groundbreaking Memorial Day

On Memorial Day, a symbolic ‘groundbreaking’ took place at Veterans Memorial Park in Darlington. Organizers are planning to install two new walls that will display about 1,200 more inscribed bricks honoring veterans. At right is Dennis Jenkins, committee chairman for Phase II of the Memorial Wall at the park. Just to the left of the sign is Danny Weaver, a driving force in getting Phase I completed.
