#GrabABagSC litter pick-up

Despite Saturday morning’s chilly and damp weather, citizen volunteers joined members of the City of Darlington Beautification Board to pick up trash around town. The meet-up was part of #GrabABagSC, a statewide litter-fighting campaign spearheaded by Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette. Locally, volunteers met at the City of Darlington Administration Building at 9 a.m., signed up to snag litter on particular streets, and returned to home base at noon for a weigh-off. The winning team of Linda Beckham, Karen Sprott and Ronda Brown brought in over 300 pounds of litter, and was rewarded with $100 in Walmart gift cards.
