Florence-Darlington Technical College announces the appointment of Dr. Travis P. Gleaton as the college’s new Vice President of Student Services.

“I am honored to serve as the next Vice President for Student Services at Florence-Darlington Technical College,” Dr. Gleaton said. “Having been the first to graduate high school and become a first-generation college student in my family, I understand a great deal about the challenges college students face.”

“As the Vice President for Student Services, I plan to play a pivotal role in shaping the overall quality of the student experience at Florence-Darlington Technical College,” he said. “My efforts will focus on contributing to a supportive, enriching, and empowering environment that helps students thrive academically, personally, and socially during their time at the institution.”

Gleaton received his bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education at Claflin University, a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at South Carolina State University, a Certificate in Higher Education Leadership at the University of South Carolina, and he received both his educational specialist degree in Community College Executive Leadership and his doctorate at Wingate University.

“We are very excited to have Dr. Gleaton join us as our next VP of Student Services,” FDTC President Dr. Jermaine Ford said. “At Florence-Darlington Technical College our goal is to create student success that leads to post-graduate success and the opportunity to obtain a family-sustaining wage with little to no debt is paramount. The VP of Student Services is vital in helping us to achieve our goals and make our students pathway to career success seamless.”

Gleaton will officially begin at Florence-Darlington Technical College on October 9.
