Florence-Darlington Technical College to host open house, concert
Florence-Darlington Technical College (FDTC) will host an open house and free concert featuring Corey Ward, semi-finalist from Season 20 of “The Voice” on Nov. 19 at SiMT. Community members and all graduating high school seniors interested in attending FDTC during the Spring 2022 semester can get assistance from Admissions, Financial Aid and Student Services during the open house portion of the event that kicks off at 4 p.m. FDTC staff will be in attendance to assist prospective students with their FAFSA. In order to get instantly accepted, attendees will need to bring their ACT and SAT scores. “Open house will provide an opportunity for prospective students to complete the admissions process prior to the holiday season,” said Associate Vice President for Enrollment Office/Registrar, Genell Gause. “Staff will be on-site to assist every step of the way, and then once Open House concludes, students can celebrate by attending Corey Ward’s concert.” Following the open house, there will be a free concert featuring Hartsville native Corey Ward. General admission seating opens at 6 p.m., and the concert begins at 7 p.m. While there is no charge for admission into the concert, tickets must be reserved at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/fdtc-open-house-concert-featuring-corey-ward-bringing-the-music-back-tickets-195282303627. The SiMT is located at 1951 Pisgah Rd. on the campus of FDTC. Food trucks and concessions will also be available. “We’re excited to partner with Corey Ward to give all students in the Pee Dee a much-needed respite,” said Vice President of Manufacturing and Technology Dr. Mark Roth. “In addition to his musical performance, Corey will be telling stories from his life about reaching for excellence. His passion for delivering music is guaranteed to lift your spirits.” For more information on the open house, contact the Registrar’s Office by e-mailing Registrar@fdtc.edu or by calling 843-661-8090.
