Dream Flights returns September 2

Last year’s Dream Flights was a great success. WWII veterans were allowed to ‘take to the skies’ once again. We hope this year’s event will be just as good or better. CONTRIBUTED PHOTO

Dream Flights is scheduled for September 2, 2022 from 9am – 2pm at Branhams Airport, 757 Branham Airport Road in Darlington.
Last year we celebrated our WWII Veterans, they took to the skies, enjoyed their flights, telling their War stories, with smiles from ear to ear.
Dream Flights is dedicated to honoring military veterans and seniors with the adventure of a lifetime: a flight in a Boeing Stearman biplane. As we make these heroes wishes come true, our Dream Flights inspire them to share their stories. We collect, preserve and share those stories of how they survived through times of great strife to remind us of our shared humanity, our connection to each other and the value of listening. Our Dream Flights close the generation gap and open us up to a clearer understanding of ourselves and our world.
The Public is welcome to come out and watch the Veterans take off and enjoy their flight.
The Dream Flights is a non-profit organization established and dedicated to honoring seniors and military veterans.
Through donors, community support and volunteers, the foundation provides Dream Flights in a Boeing Stearman biplane, the same aircraft used to train many military aviators in the late thirties and early forties.
The foundation was created in 2011 by Darryl & Carol Fisher and the Fisher family out of their love for seniors and the aviation world.
Generations of friends, members of the community and family come together to celebrate the achievements and sacrifices made by our seniors.
Team members working in the senior housing industry are vital to achieving the foundation’s mission. Without them we would not be able to fulfill the mission.
The joy and happiness the foundation brings to the heart is beyond explanation. We have come to learn that anything can happen once a senior takes a dream flight. It is truly something that you must see and experience to understand.
