Door locks sabotaged at Democrats’ Hartsville offices
Someone used superglue to jam the door locks at the Hartsville offices of the Darlington County Democratic Party.
Apparently sometime late Monday or early Tuesday, the locks at the Democrats’ campaign offices on West Home Avenue were sabotaged by being filled with some type of powerful, quickly hardening glue.
Officers from the Hartsville Police Department were on the scene, but a spokesman referred questions to the City of Hartsville.
Sen. Gerald Malloy of Hartsville, chairman of the county Democratic Party, said he viewed the sabotage as more than a prank.
“It’s very unfortunate,” Malloy said. “It’s more than delinquency – it’s a criminal matter. It’s injury to property.”
Malloy said he was confident that the facts behind the incident would be brought out.
