DCSO warns of phone scam
The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office wants people to be aware of a phone scam in which a caller is claiming to be an employee of the Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office has gotten complaints about scam calls in which the person claims there is an active arrest warrant out on the person they just called, then requests fine money or payment to avoid arrest. The DCSO says no law enforcement agency would call someone, tell them there’s a warrant out for them, then ask for money to stay out of jail.
