DCSO issues arrest update

At approximately 9:40pm, on February 12, 2025, Deputies responded to a call in reference to a shooting incident off Candy Lane in the Florence area of Darlington County. Darlington County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) along with SLED worked to secure the scene.
As a result of this investigation, Jefferey Booker was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny, Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime, and Murder. Bond was denied on all three charges
Through further investigation, investigators discovered Jeffery Booker committed the offense of Petit Larceny on February 9, 2025, by stealing a Glock 23 Generation 5 Firearm from a residence on Swinney Drive in the Hartsville area of Darlington County. This firearm was used in the commission of a homicide. On February 12, 2025 Booker did commit the offense of Malicious Injury to property by stealing a 2024 White Chevrolet Silverado from a residence off of Turnpike Road in the Florence area of Darlington County, and proceeded to drive the vehicle through a wooden fence and metal gate, causing damage to the fence and gate of a residence.
On February 18,2025, Jeffery Booker was also charged with Petit Larceny and Malicious Injury to Property.
On February 19, 2025, Jeffery Booker attended his bond hearing where his bond was set for $15,000 cash for the Petit Larceny charge and $5,000 cash for the Malicious Injury to Property charge. Booker is currently being held in the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center.
