DCSD announces free COVID PCR testing for students, faculty and staff

Darlington County School District announces a new COVID-19 PCR testing program for all students, faculty and staff. Testing will be provided to all students, staff and faculty free of charge. There are two important changes for the students, employees and community members to be aware of with this new program: • This COVID-19 testing program can only be provided to DCSD students and employees. Unlike the district’s previous COVID-19 testing, this new program is being funded through a grant from S.C. DHEC. The grant only allows the district to provide testing to students, faculty and staff. The district cannot provide testing for families of students and staff. • The registration process for testing is different than the program the district offered earlier this school year. Initially, testing will be available at the District’s Administrative Offices while the district finalizes plans to expand testing sites into Hartsville and Lamar. These additional testing sites will open soon. The free testing began Jan. 10 outside of the DCSD Administrative Offices, 120 E. Smith Ave. in Darlington. Testing will be available from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at that location. This testing program will be administered through Mako Medical. Test results will be available within 24-48 hours. If you have questions about this new COVID-19 PCR testing program for DCSD students, faculty and staff, please contact the Office of Communications at 843-398-2284.
