Day of Prayer back after long absence

About 50 people turned out May 5 at the Darlington County Courthouse for the first National Day of Prayer held in Darlington since 2019. COVID concerns prevented the event from being held in 2020 and 2021. About 10 area pastors led prayers individually for President Joe Biden, national and military leaders, servicemen and -women, Gov. Henry McMaster and state leaders, Darlington Mayor Curtis Boyd and city and county leaders, law enforcement and firefighters, healthcare workers, the educational system of the city, state and nation, all homes and families of the city and county, churches and ministers of the city and county, a spiritual awakening, and a reading of the 2022 National Prayer for America.
