Darlington man gets life sentence in 2018 slaying
A 28-year-old Darlington man has been sentenced to life in prison in the 2018 killing of his girlfriend in Florence, according to the 12th Circuit Solicitor’s Office. Officials said Circuit Court Judge Craig Brown sentenced Deangelo L. Thomas to life Sept. 23 after a jury found him guilty of murdering his girlfriend, 19-year-old Vernita “Nita” White Clements. She was shot on Middleton Avenue in Florence.
