Darlington County School District opens online registration

Registration for the 2020-2021 school year is now open for Darlington County Schools at www.darlington.k12.sc.us.

Parents of new or returning students will be asked to choose the method of instruction they prefer for each child: The new Darlington County Virtual Academy (5K-12) or the traditional in-person school with enhanced eLearning.

Registration for both will be online. All DCSD students will need to register online by July 29.

The district’s online PowerSchool Registration Portal allows parents to register students, pay fees, sign up for transportation and (where offered) telehealth, and submit proof of residency online.

Other documents can also be uploaded online, such as updated immunization records, sports physicals, and certain legal documents.

As a reminder, a tax notice, landline telephone bill, a bill for cable service that is connected to the residence, or a utility bill such as water, gas and electric will be accepted as proof of residency. Neither a cellphone bill nor a driver’s license will be accepted as proof of residency.

Parents who already have a ParentPortal account can access registration forms via ParentPortal or you can use your unique login credentials, called SNAPCODES. Login credentials were being emailed to parents of returning students July 15.

Parents can obtain login credentials as well as login assistance by calling the DCSD registration hotline, available from July 15-17, July 20-24 and July 27-29 from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. each day.

The registration hotline number is 843-398-2236. Due to the high volume of calls, the calls may go to a voicemail. Please keep trying at a different time.

New students, including 4K and 5K students not previously registered, will also register through the online portal by selecting “New Student Registration.”

New students will not need a SNAPCODE. In order to register a new student, parents and/or guardians should be prepared to upload a pdf or jpg file of the following materials:

PROOF OF RESIDENCY:

A tax notice, a landline telephone bill, a bill for cable service that is connected to the residence or a utility bill such as water, gas and electric will be accepted.

A cellphone bill and/or a driver’s license cannot be used as proof of residency.

Immunization record

Birth certificate

(For 4K only) Proof of income/S.C. Healthy Connection Medicaid Card

A registration slot for 4K will not be reserved for a child without documented proof of residence and proof of income. Available slots are limited and preference is given to those students whose family meets state income requirements.
