The Darlington County Democratic Party opened two campaign headquarters (at left) Sept. 10 – one in Darlington, at 109 Pearl St., and one in Hartsville, at 311 West Home Ave. Pictured above is a series of speakers celebrating the Darlington headquarters’ debut. From left to right: James Hudson, Democratic nominee for sheriff; county Auditor Margaret Rogers; Hartsville Sen. Gerald Malloy, chairman of the county party; and Darlington Rep. Robert Williams. Also, U.S. Senate candidate Jaime Harrison made a quick appearance by cellphone call. “This is the most important election of our lifetimes,” Williams said of the November balloting, because “everything” rides on it. He emphasized the importance for Democrats of ousting GOP President Donald Trump: “Every word he spits out is a lie.” PHOTO BY BOBBY BRYANT
