Cowick posts bond, is out of jail

Katherine Cowick, who’s charged with killing a 9-year-old girl and the girl’s grandmother in 2016, has posted bond and is free from jail for the first time in four years, local media are reporting today.
WBTW reports Cowick posted the required 10 percent of her $200,000 bond on Monday and was released pending her trial.
Jail records show she is no longer being held in the Darlington County jail.
Cowick and her husband, Cephas Cowick, are accused of killing Deziyah Davis, 9, and her grandmother, Denise Couplin, 52, both of Darlington, at a home off Highway 151 in July 2016.
Cephas Cowick has pleaded guilty and accepted a sentence of life without parole.
