Convenience store near Hartsville destroyed by fire

A convenience store at Bobo Newsome Highway and Lydia Highway near Hartsville was destroyed by a fire last Tuesday, the Darlington County Fire District says. Units from three stations responded, along with the Hartsville Fire Department and Darlington Fire Department through mutual aid assistance. According to Chief Ricky Flowers, first arriving units were on scene within six minutes of the call being received. No one was inside the building. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Darlington County Fire District and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
