Community Resource Hub event held

On Wednesday, February 15, 2023, Darlington County Coordinating Council, along with many healthcare professionals organizations held their monthly Community & Homeless Resource Hub at the headquarters of The Purpose to Live Ministries, located at 90 Public Square in Darlington. Pastor Corey Milling welcomed approximately 50 vendors into his establishment as he regularly does.

Held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, the Resource Hub event provides access to free community resources such as free health screenings, such as blood pressure checks, as well as glucose and cholesterol testing. The event also helps those seeking legal services, assistance with SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assisistance Program) benefits, Medicaid assistance, prescription medications, drug and alcohol counseling and help finding work.

In addition to medical services, the event also provides housing and utility assistance, mental health and veterans services and domestic violence services.  The event will take place again on April 19th, May 17th, June 21st, July 19th, August 16th, September 20th, October 18th, November 15th and December 20th.
