Charlotte NC man sentenced to 42 months for Strong Arm Robbery

Victor Haroyl Inman, age 41 of Charlotte, NC, pled guilty to Strong Arm Robbery on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 in Darlington County General Sessions Court. The charges stemmed from an August 8, 2024 incident where Inman’s co-defendant carjacked a Chevrolet Camaro from an individual in the Darlington Walmart parking lot. Judge Brian Gibbons sentenced the Inman to 42 months incarceration. The case was prosecuted by Assistant Solicitor Adam M. Foard.
During the plea, the state presented information that Inman drove the co-defendant to the location, waited while the carjacking occurred, then followed the co-defendant to a hotel in Florence, SC. The vehicle was located at the hotel a short time later and Inman and the co-defendant were taken into custody.
“Inman may not have pulled the gun, but there is no doubt his role facilitated the crime,” said Assistant Solicitor Foard. “The hand of one is the hand of all and Inman’s culpability is no less than the co-defendant.”
Solicitor Mike Burch wishes to thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and remind the public of his commitment to prosecuting crimes involving violent acts. “Due to our geographic location between the Charlotte Metro region and the Grand Strand, the Fourth Circuit has tens of thousands of people passing through every day.” said Burch. “If you commit crimes on your travels, it will be taken seriously.”
Inman’s sentence will be served in a facility to be determined by the South Carolina Department of Corrections.
