I don’t think the News & Press has enough ink to print all of the written history that has been maintained concerning this old Baptist congregation, the Welch Neck Baptist Church. This congregation is not only one of oldest “Dissenter” congregations in South Carolina, but they have maintained an enormous amount of printed records. Before we go any further, I feel that I need to explain the term “Dissenter” so no one will get offended.
