Byerly Foundation grant to DCDSNB
The Darlington County Disabilities and Special Needs Board, which operates the Scott Center in Hartsville, will be able to make renovations to some of the homes of their clients after earning a grant from The Byerly Foundation.
The Foundation recently awarded a grant of $21,800 to assist the DCDSNB in the renovation of two of the bathrooms at one of their community training homes, as well as aid in the painting and repairing of other homes in the Hartsville area.
Ruth Blocker, the Executive Director of the Board explains, “The monies that we receive from the State are not enough to totally fund the needs of the people that we serve in Darlington County, so we are grateful for the financial assistance that demonstrates to others that our county truly cares for the individuals that we serve and want to make a difference in their lives as well as all citizens of Darlington County.”
