Applications now available for the DCSD ArtSummer Intensive Program

Darlington County School District (DCSD) students interested in the arts have an exciting opportunity to immerse themselves in the study of a specific arts discipline for three weeks on a college campus. Through a partnership with Coker University’s P.L. and Belle Wolf McCall School of Visual and Performing Arts, the district’s ArtSummer Intensive program will be held on the university’s campus for three weeks in June. Online applications can be found on the district’s website at www.dcsdschools.org and will be accepted until March 31, 2023.

The ArtSummer Intensive program is open to DCSD students currently in grades 6-12. The supercharged arts program will allow students to immerse themselves in studying specific arts disciplines, including visual arts, media arts-animation, dance, theater, and instrumental and vocal music. During the three weeks, students will have many opportunities to show dedication and creativity, take risks, and express themselves in their various arts disciplines in college arts classrooms.

The program will operate June 5-23, from 8:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday. Shuttle transportation will be provided from a central location for Darlington, Lamar, and Society Hill students. Students living in Hartsville will need to provide their own transportation.

The application period for ArtSummer Intensive is open March 1-31, 2023. Interested parents can apply online at https://bit.ly/2023ArtSummer.
