Angela Denise Deas

DARLINGTON – Angela “Angie” Denise Elms Deas, 57, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. A graveside service was held Monday, Jan. 11, at Grove Hill Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home. Angie was born in Darlington to Margie Rogers Elms and Garren Eugene Elms on July 28, 1963. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 39 years, Johnny Mack Deas, and their two children, John Clinton Deas (Heather Smothers) and Kayli Michelle Cantey (Jimmy); her grandchildren, CJ and Neveah Deas, Skylar Smothers and Lee Canty. Also surviving are her siblings, Michelle E. Jones (Lewis), Garren E. Elms Jr. (Candace), Phillip Elms (Brandy), Billy Elms (Erin) of Ohio; and her stepmother, Lois Elms of Ohio. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by stepfather Buck Prosser, grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Bill Elms and Mr. and Mrs. Will Rogers. Angie also shared a very special relationship with her nephews and nieces, Garrette Jones, Conner and Graysen Elms, Levi and Liam Elms, Taylor and Tyler Elms; and great-nephew, John Garren Jones. Angie was a graduate of St. John’s High School. She and her husband Johnny owned and operated Signs Plus of Darlington. Angie especially enjoyed her personal contact and relationships with their many clients. Angie also worked for many years at CP&L, where she made many lifelong friends. She also loved spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren, family, friends, and being in contact with her friends on Facebook. She wanted everyone to know that she felt your love and prayers over this past year. She appreciated so much the food, calls and texts she received.
