AKA Sorority honors Flowers
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.’s National Family Caregivers Day places emphasis on taking care of those who take care of others. Chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority emphasize the need for caregivers to practice preventive healthcare as well as self-care behavior to eliminate the vulnerabilities and risks associated with the stress of caregiving. The Omega Omega Omega chapter of Darlington honored Tonya D. Flowers of Darlington, founder of the House of Refuge Outreach Ministry, as the 2019 caregiver honoree on Nov. 16. In addition, the chapter members donated feminine hygiene items as a part of the chapter’s Pack the Purse Initiative and clothing to the House of Refuge Outreach Ministry.
