4H and Darlington Library team up to teach about eggs and incubation

In September and October, the Darlington Library and Darlington 4-H teamed up to teach the library’s attendees about egg incubation. Fertilized eggs were donated by a Darlington County supplier. Kyla Szemplinski, Darlington 4-H agent (at right in photo with library staff), taught the library staff about how to care for the eggs in the incubator (top left & bottom left) and also how to set up the brooding box once the chicks hatch (above). The library was successful in hatching four eggs. CONTRIBUTED PHOTOS
