39th Annual South Carolina Sweet Potato Festival to be held October 8
Darlington, S.C., U.S. – The longest running festival in Darlington County, the 39th annual S.C. Sweet Potato Festival, will return Saturday, October 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. “on the Square” in historic downtown Darlington.
Vendors from all over the Southeast will be on hand with crafts, exhibits and more, while others will offer baked goods, food trucks, and of course, sweet potato pies! Featuring family fun for all ages, kids will enjoy face painting, puppet shows, interactional learning centers, and other exciting games and rides.
Proudly presented by the Pilot Club of Darlington, the opening ceremony at 10:00 a.m. kicks off a full day of entertainment on Center Stage featuring musical talent from around the state, including the Fiddlin’ Fludds, Gracie Smith, Brenda Cranford dance studio, Stone Martin and popular young Elvis impersonator Dorian Mathis.
Vendor spots are sold out. Festival information can be found at www.darlingtonpilotclub.org and via the Darlington Pilot Club’s Facebook page.
Join thousands to celebrate the vital role sweet potatoes play in the economy of the Pee Dee and have great fun doing it. Admission is free. Free parking is also available around the Square.
