Cain celebrates May Day
J. L. Cain Elementary School held its annual May Day Friday, May 5. The theme was “America Land of The Free.”
Miss Jaimzee Wingate was crowned “May Queen” 2017, she is the daughter of Ms. Jammie Williams and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Goodson . Master DeMarion Stephens was crowned “May King” 2017 he is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Andre Williams. Miss Easton Boaz was crowned “Little Miss” 2017, she is the daughter of Mr. Chris & Kelly Boaz. Master Elyjah Casey was crowned “Little Master” 2017, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Casey, Sr. Miss Laney Blackwell was crowned “Wee Master” 2017, she is the daughter of Mr. Reed and Teniele Blackwell. Master Dreden Bethea was crowned “Wee Master” 2017, he is the son of Ms. Denean Jessup.
Runner Up Queen Contestants were: Summer Rheuark, Carrie Maine, and Lara Kelly. Runner Up King Contestants were: Hayden Watford, Jalik Jackson, and Alston Singletary. Honorable Mention: Malia Gregg and Natalli Bacote.
May Queen Contestants were: Markelya Berry, Allaija Davis, Markhaya Berry, Qaisha Ross, Erin Douglas, Sophia Galloway, Kailyn Washington, London Bruce, Emma Kelley, Nazarah King, Hannah Tarlton, Megan McClain, Mariah Thomas, KeAri Keels, Ava Bryant, Zowiee Dixon, Bella Galloway and Caitlin Pearson. May Day King Contestants were: Charles Hester, Princeton Lighty, Zaylor Hatcher, Colbee Smith, Tyler Bridges, Jonathan Carter, Andre Thomas, Ryder Morgan, Jordan Johnson, and Skylar Jacobs.
Entertainment was performed by each grade level. Miss Makynzie Cage and Miss Grace Brunson were the Mistresses of Ceremony. Program Participants:Lavonda Cannon, Romaya Smith, Eric Jacobs, Aaliyah Davis, Prudence Manship, Nickolis Wells, Honesty Bess, Jaden Harrell, Saqqara Hicks, Nathan Smith and Shyanne Gandy.
