The PDRA makes its debut at the Legendary Darlington Dragway

The world’s premier eighth-mile series, the Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA), will make its debut at the legendary Darlington Dragway May 18-20 for the Spring Nationals. The PDRA is home to the quickest and fastest Pro Mods in the country, reaching up to 230 MPH in just 660 feet, and features five professional categories, four sportsman categories, and two categories of Junior Dragsters – the classes reserved for the next generation of racers. Local racers can enter the PDRA’s Bracket Bash category to vie for the $3,000 that is up for grabs.

The Spring Nationals is expected to be a marquee stop on the 2017 PDRA Tour, garnering the hotbed of southeastern Pro Mod racers, while also drawing teams from all over the world who are anxious to see the revitalized and distinguished Darlington Dragway.

All the action will begin on Thursday, May 18 as the track opens for testing. Admission is just $10 on Thursday. Two rounds of qualifying will be held on Friday, May 19, beginning at 2 p.m. Friday tickets are $20. A final round of qualifying is scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. with eliminations beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday tickets are $25 or get an entire weekend pass for just $40. Kids 10 and under are always free. Military get in at half price with a valid military ID.

Every ticket is a pit pass. Fans are free to wander the pits, meet racers and see the behind the scenes action for themselves. They can shake hands with the biggest names in eighth-mile drag racing: Brandon Snider, Tommy Franklin, Lizzy Musi, Eric McKinney, as well as local stars Tylor Miller and the Pee Dee Fleet team, plus many, many more. The show-stopping action on the track will be topped off with the exhibition wheelstander and jet dragster.
