Thank you to all involved in 15 years of turkey giveaways
The annual Thanksgiving (turkey giveaway) event for Darlington will be held Tuesday, Nov. 26.
We would like to send out a special thank you to Randy Witherspoon and Piggly Wiggly of Darlington, who are helping with our event this year.
Also a special thanks to Terry Lewis of Darlington Family Pharmacy, who has again agreed to be the event sponsor.
Pepsi has agreed to donate drinks again this year as they have all 15 years.
Orlando (Hudson) has also been a major sponsor every year and will be distributing turkeys with us again this year.
Finally, a very big thank you to EB (Edward Bridges), who has helped co-ordinate this event since the beginning.
The event normally starts between 6:30 and 7 a.m. on the Public Square and goes until supplies run out.
A turkey, canned foods and a drink will be given out.
Thank you to all the sponsors that give each year. Due to the generosity of businesses and friends in town, we have been able to give an average of 1,000 turkeys, canned foods and drinks each year for the past 15 years.
