Prescribed burning program to be held

There will be a program Oct. 27 on managing liability of prescribed burns. The program will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pee Dee Electric Co-op, 1355 E. McIver Rd. in Darlington. The cost to attend the program is $10 with an additional $40 for CFE credits.

This program is for anyone that is interested in or is currently conducting prescribed burns. Participants will learn how to better prepare themselves to manage the liability they face as a result of prescribed burning.

Writing a burn plan
CPFM certification
Wildland Urban Interface
Weather conditions
Smoke Management
Legal Issues

There will be four Category 1 CFE credits available to foresters. Please RSVP by phone or email to Ryan Bean, 803-840-6124 or rbean@clemson.edu, by October 25 so that necessary arrangements can be made.
